DIY TEETH WHITENING

I have been needing to do some serious DIY teeth whitening. I believe there is a television commercial that says, “If you aren’t whitening, you’re yellowing.” Well that got my wheels turning and I realized, “Ah! I must be yellowing!!!”

Good ol’ toothpaste just wasn’t doing the trick. So I figured I might as well try a home remedy before shelling out the cash on white strips. (Been there, done that. They work but why not try to save some deniro?)

I found exactly what I needed on Pinterest. Which is where I find all my great ideas. ;)  Fortunately, I saw an improvement after just ONE use which is why I am quickly sharing this breakthrough with everyone I know!

And you know what else? I had all the ingredients on hand to do this home remedy, and I bet you do too! Got toothpaste? (Hope so…) Water? (If you have the Internet and are reading this, I’m sure you have running water.) Have any baking soda? Ok how bout hydrogen peroxide? If you have those four things, plus a little container for storage, then you are ready to go.

DIY Teeth Whitening IngredientsSqueeze a small amount of toothpaste into a tiny container, followed by
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon hydrogen peroxide
1/2 teaspoon water

Mix those ingredients together, and brush your teeth thoroughly for two minutes. Use this once a week until you are happy with the shade of white. Then reduce to using once a month.

You still have time to whiten before you go out tonight! Good luck!

*When I went back to Pinterest to share the website with y’all, the website was a broken link, so I apologize for not giving credit to the genius who made this DIY teeth whitening recipe.

    1. Abigail- I have only used it for three weeks, and expect to need to do it two more times to get the results I want.

    1. I bought some at Target, and also some from Kroger. It’s liquid, and usually found near the band aids for less than $1 a bottle.

  6. i was just wondering, do you brush your teeth normally and then use this mixture or do you replace your normal teeth brushing with this mixture? also, do you rinse and spit or leave as is after brushing? thank you.

    1. I brush my teeth normally and then use the mixture. I also rinse and spit. That way you get the taste out of your mouth and you can look at your pretty pearly whites! :)
