Jamberry Nails Tutorial

Y’all know I love to paint my nails. So does my girl Eve, which is why she introduced me not only to various salon nail care products, but also to a whole new way of doing my nails, and it’s called Jamberry. They are basically like a hard core vinyl sticker that you cut to fit each individual nail. They are cheaper than getting gel nails, and last just as long. Plus, they come in hundreds of different colors and patters. Maybe you’ve heard of it, maybe not, but I thought I would do a little tutorial to show you how it’s done. (By the way I am not being compensated to write this post. Just a faithful fan of the nails.)

1- push your cuticles back with an orange stick

2- fill a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and clean each nail

3- lay the sheet of Jams over your nail to find the right size. You want the Jam to be slightly narrower than your nail. (If your Jam is touching the sides of your finger, the oil from your skin will cause the sticker to lift and detach.)

find your size

4- peel the Jam off with a pair of tweezers, and hold in front of a hair dryer on low, high heat for 3-5 seconds each side

heat it up

5- press the Jam onto your nail, starting at the base and working your way to the top

press it on

6- cut the excess off and apply that part to your other hand

press it on

7- heat nail in front of hair dryer on low, high heat for 3-5 seconds

heat again

8- press Jam down again onto your nail to finish the seal and use orange stick if needed to apply pressure

9- use a coarse grit file to smooth out the edges of your nails

coarse file

This file gets used a lot…

10- enjoy!
